Througout the 2013-2014 school year, the Aria Health Emergency Department Expansion located in Philadelphia, PA was studied in depth. The building was disected in terms of cost, schedule, constuctability, and sustainability, where a final report was assembled to improve the sustainable features of the building. Four analyses were performed in the area of Sustainable Construction techniques, which included the addition of a photovoltaic array, the implementation of a rainwater collection system, operable solar shading on the building facade, as well as the modularization of patient treatment rooms.
